Hitcents is excited to announce a big expansion, their first international office, in Shanghai China. The building is located in the prestigious Luwan District, home to famous boulevards, international fashion and high-class restaurants. The lease was signed earlier this month, and the office will officially open for business on July 15, 2013 once the business license has been approved. Hitcents will start with four employees in the China office and hopes to grow with the same success as the U.S. location. Hitcents has always dreamed of expanding their overseas presence and now is fulfilling that dream in a big way.
"There is so much going on with the smartphone and mobile gaming market in China, it just made sense for us to establish a presence there as a reliable and known U.S. company," said Chris Mills, president of Hitcents.
According to IDC’s 2013 Q1 China Mobile Phone Quarterly Tracker, shipments of smartphones reached 28 million units in Q1 2013, with a year-on-year growth of 390%. This resulted in the share of smartphones in China’s mobile phone market reaching a new high of 79%. Hitcents has always been on the leading edge of technology trends and plans on learning the market to assist other businesses looking to expand their apps to the Chinese culture.
Chris Mills will be heading up the operations in the Shanghai office and working with top industry leaders to ensure a smooth transition for translating the games into the languages and cultures.
Mills added, "We are looking forward to all of the wonderful opportunities ahead of us in bringing our great games and creativity to the consumers there and providing a bridge for other U.S. companies looking to do the same."
